I will never let myself scroll past a picture of Walt and not reblog it. I feel like I’d be dishonoring him, and he’s just done so much for me that it’s just not right.
Bless this man for enriching my childhood.

I will admit that I am completely ignorant when it comes to transgender civil rights and how the community wants to be represented in mainstream media, but I hope there is a small amount of tolerance that can recognize Jared Leto for his work in Dallas Buyers Club, I’ve read all the negative reviews and while disheartening, I do feel Leto’s gratitude is honest and pure.
Not to redirect focus on the gay community, but for the longest time before homosexuals we’re even prominently featured in films, movies like Priscilla Queen of the Desert, or Birdcage, (movies which I do love) featured gay men as lavish drag queens with over eccentric ideals and morals, and then Hollywood and well most of America grew a tolerance and and acceptance that the gay community is multi faceted, just like all communities. So while I do humbly respect the transgender community for wanting accreditation in mainstream hollywood, I do think it will take time and education before we get there.
As I sit here and write this, I do fear of the backlash Tumblr seems to have when others express their opinion, but I would consider this as my last plea: regardless of our views, we are all a family, a family of nerds, and geeks, and fandoms of all kinds, that bring us together and makes this giant world seem a little less lonely, and it’s all of our views and expressions that make us the dysfunctional family we are, so before we go ripping each other’s heads off, let’s never forget that.
Let’s stay humble, and
continue expressing our beliefs
while hearing and respecting others.
